Daily Dirt – 5/26/20

A few things to kick off the week following the long weekend..

  • The Greg Heiar to ETSU rumors seem to be gaining some momentum. It sounds like the LSU assistant could be jumping ship and joining Jason Shay’s staff, with an announcement coming as early as this week. Heiar has been at LSU since 2017 – before that he was an assistant at Wichita State where he worked with former ETSU head coach Steve Forbes.
  • South Dakota assistant Luke DallaRiva has departed the staff, and will take a HS coaching job in the Phoenix area. The former Grand Canyon staffer has been on Todd Lee’s staff since 2018. It sounds like current South Dakota DBO Casey Kasperbauer will be elevated to assistant coach to replace DallaRiva. Kasperbauer is a 2016 USD grad, and a 1,000 point scorer for the Coyotes.
  • People keep asking for a Green Bay list. I’m still working on it – there are NO LEGIT names right now. The Green Bay administration is currently working to identify candidates. Any names you hear right now are purely rumors. Once I can get some credible names, I’ll pass them along.
  • It sounds like IUPUI is inching closer to re-opening their coaching search, with a decision on whether they can/will coming with in the next week or so. They had gotten to the second round before they shut it down at the end of March in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. I’ll have the names here once I get word that it is in fact re-opened.
