Daily Dirt – 5/20/15

Today’s Daily Dirt…

  • I have heard that Palm Beach Atlantic University top assistant Eddie Shannon will become the Director of Basketball Operations at UT-Chattanooga. Shannon has been at PBA for three years, following a 10-year pro career. Collegiately, Shannon was a four-year starter at Florida for Lon Kruger and Billy Donovan and was recently selected as an SEC Legend.
  • I can confirm that Brooklyn College assistant coach Brian Shea has resigned to pursue other opportunities.  Shea has been an assistant at Brooklyn for the past four seasons and played at the school from 2007-11.
  • With the departure of Josh Merkel to Randolph-Macon,  Salisbury University has begun the search for a new head coach.  The search just got a bit interesting yesterday as AD Michael Vienna announced that he was resigning to take over the program at Emory.  This will definitely impact the search – I will be curious to see how this one plays out…
  • Speaking of searches, Ave Maria (FL) is on the hunt to replace Ken Dagostino.  I have heard that they are looking for a candidate who is very active in the Catholic Church.  Two early names have surfaced – current assistant Terry Collins (who is also a Deacon), and Franciscian University head coach John Lamanna.
