A few things that I’ve heard…

  • Anthony Solomon has departed the Notre Dame and will become an assistant at Georgetown. He joins Akbar Waheed (Hofstra) as new assistants on John Thompson III’s staff. They replace Tavares Hardy (Georgia Tech), and Kevin Sutton (Pitt). Solomon, the former head coach at St. Bonaventure, has also been an assistant at Virginia, Clemson, Bowling Green, Manhattan, and Richmond. He is the second assistant to leave Mike Brey’s staff this week – Martin Ingelsby became the head coach at Delaware yesterday.
  • I have heard that former Columbia assistant coach Adam Hood is in the mix for one of the assistant spots at UTSA. The former player at Air Force, and Texas native, had been on the staff at Columbia for two seasons. He also spent two seasons as a special assistant at Boston University.
  • Georgia Southwestern (DII Peach Belt Conference) head coach Mike Leeder has resigned, but will remain as the Athletic Director. Leeder has spent the past ten seasons as the head coach at GSW and has also been the head coach at Longwood and Thomas (ME). We have already posted the job HERE.
  • I have heard that the University of Indianapolis (DII Great Lakes Valley Conference) will hire George Hemmingsen as an assistant coach. He has spent last season as an assistant at NAIA Waldorf University. Hemmingsen who has previously served on the UIndy staff (2014-15), has also spent five seasons as an assistant at Kentucky Wesleyan College.
