Here are a bunch of things that I’ve heard…
- On Wednesday, I mentioned that Rider associate head coach Mike Witcoskie would be joining Donyell Marshall’s staff at Central Connecticut (Daily Dirt – 5/4/16). I have now also heard that Marshall will hire Lamar assistant Anthony Anderson and retain current CCSU assistant Obie Nwadike. Anderson has also served as an assistant at TCU, SMU, Texas-Arlington, and McNeese State. Nwadike, a former standout at CCSU, has also been on the staff at Wagner.
- I have heard that NAIA Montana Western assistant coach J.C. Isakson will depart to become an assistant at NCAA DII Montana State Billings. Isakson is a Montana Western alum who had been on the staff there for the past two seasons.
- Vermont Academy assistant Connor Merrill is reportedly taking an assistant spot at DIII Springfield College. Merrill would be the 4th VA staffer to head to the college level in the past three years. The other three are: Wade Smith (Miami, OH), Cody Hatt (Texas), and Jesse Bopp (Chattanooga).
- I have heard from great sources that John Preziosa is in line to become the associate head coach at DIII Salem State University. Preziosa has most recently served as the head coach at Bishop Fenwick HS (MA), and has also been the head coach at DIII Wheelock College.
- Mike Girardi will become the men’s basketball coach at Modesto junior College (CA). He has been the women’s head coach at MJC since 2005, and will now coach both teams.
- A couple of search updates…
- I have heard that DII Queens College (NY) has received 92 applications for their vacant men’s basketball position. The committee is now sifting through those and will narrow the field shortly.
- The search at DIII MCLA already has over 70 applications. A lot of DII/DIII guys involved here.
