Daily Dirt – 6/29/20

A few things to kick off the week…

According to multiple report, including one from KRQE in Albuquerque, former Samford head coach Scott Padgett will join the staff at New Mexico. Padgett, who was released at Samford earlier this spring, went 84-115 (.422) during his six seasons there. The former Kentucky standout was the 28th pick in the 1999 NBA draft, and played for eight seasons in the league.

Tyler Thayer has been named as an assistant at D2 Converse College (SC). Thayer spent last season as an assistant at Independence College (KS), and also served as a GA at Barry University (FL). He will join new head coach Ryan Saunders as they prepare to lead Converse in the program’s first-ever season.

I have heard that Dennan Morrow, who was an assistant last season at Chipola College (FL), will be heading to Butler CC (KS). Morrow, a Kansas native, has also been an assistant at Dayton State College, Barton CC (KS), and spent time as a GA for both Frank Martin and Bruce Weber at K-State.

David Graves has been named as the new head coach at NJCAA Victoria College (TX). He has most recently been a head coach at Waelder HS in Texas, where he led his team to a 33-6 record last season.
