Daily Dirt – 6/6/12

Today’s "dirt"…

• In Monday’s blog, I mentioned that former Iowa and Butler head coach Todd Lickliter will be named as the head coach at Marian (IN). I can now confirm that – he will be officially introduced at a 2:00pm press conference this afternoon.

• Former Colorado and Northern Illinois head coach Ricardo Patton is headed to the HS level. He has accepted the head coaching position at Central HS (Memphis, TN). Patton has a 219-243 record in 16 seasons as a DI head coach (184-160 in 12 seasons at Colorado, 35-83 in 4 seasons at NIU). He spent last season as an assistant at Maryland-Eastern Shore.

• LSU-Shreveport head coach Chad McDowell is resigning and will become the AD at the school. He has compiled a 239-66 during his tenure at LSUS and will replace the retiring Doug Robinson.

• I have heard that Asbury College (KY) assistant Matt Botner will become the next head coach at Ballard Memorial HS (KY). Botner is a 2005 Asbury alum who has been on staff there for the past two seasons.
