Daily Dirt – 6/7/13

On the road today…doing the Daily Dirt from a rest area – here’s what I’ve got…

• I can confirm that both Jim Shaw and Paul Fortier are out as assistants at Washington. No word yet where they will land – it sounds like Fortier has something, but Shaw is still searching.

• It sounds like Tennesse staffer Marco Harris is in line to be bumped up to the DBO spot. He has been the coordinator of student athlete welfare with in the program for the past few years.

• I have heard from a great source that SUNY Sullivan is down to five finalist for their head coaching position. Two guys have already interviewed and three are due in next week. I have heard that the two who have already interviewed are former FDU head coach Greg “Shoes” Vetrone and North Dakota assistant Brent Wilson (also a former assistant at Albany). The decision is expected in a few weeks.

• Speaking of SUNY Sullivan, I have heard that former assistant Dan DeVantier has joined the staff at SUNY Delhi as assistant coach. DeVantier was part of 91 wins over the past 3 seasons at Sullivan. He is the brother of former Sullivan head coach Kevin DeVantier who became an assistant at Norfolk State this spring.
