Daily Dirt – 6/1/15

Here are a some things that I’ve heard…

  • The first name that has emerged surrounding the search to replace Steve Evans at LeMoyne is Patrick Beilein.  The former West Virginia Wesleyan head coach spent this past season in a player development / video coordinator role with the Utah Jazz.  Beilein was a 1,000 point scorer for his father, John, at West Virginia.  He has also been a GA at Michigan, DBO at Bradley, and an assistant at Dartmouth.
  • I can confirm through a great source that Rafi Goldman has been hired as the video coordinator at Nevada.  He was most recently the head manager at Vanderbilt, and has also been involved on the grassroots basketball scene.
  • I can also confirm that DII Simon Fraser will name Steve Hanson as an assistant.  Hanson has most recently been a high school coach in British Columbia while also serving as the head coach of player development at 3D Basketball Academy.
  • I have heard that Nick Podesta has become an assistant at Fresno City College.  He had spent the past five seasons as an assistant at Consumnes River College (CA).
  • It sounds like DIII Baldwin Wallace (OH) will begin phone interviews this week.  They are searching to replace Duane Shelton who resigned earlier this spring.
