A few things that I’ve heard…

  • Middle Tennessee State Director of Basketball Operations Jarrod Lazarus has joined the staff at South Florida in the same role. The Florida native had spent the past four seasons at MTSU.

  • I have heard that Florida International Director of Basketball Operations Jarrett Lockhart will be elevated to assistant coach, replacing Erik Pastrana who recently became the head coach at Daytona State. Lockhart has been on the FIU staff for the past three seasons. I have also heard that assistant DBO Mike Oliva will be bumped up as well and replace Lockhart as the DBO. Oliva has been at FIU for the past five seasons, starting back in 2012 as the graduate manager under Richard Pitino.

  • New Indiana Tech head coach Ted Albert will hire Raymoan McAfee as his top assistant. McAfee has spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater Ferris State.

  • Centenary College (Louisiana) is close to wrapping up their search for a new head coach. I have heard that they are down to two finalists from just over 160 applicants. They whittled the field down after 16 phone interviews, and 8 Skype interviews. The final two are expected to be on campus with in the next week.

  • Another Centenary looking for a coach…Centenary University (NJ) is moving along with their search. I have heard that Skype interviews took place this past weekend, and on campus interviews will follow. At least one former DIII head coach got a Skype interview. More on this one as I hear it.
