Busy day for the DirtKing – sorry for the late update. Had a recruit on campus this morning, a “big boy” meeting this afternoon, then hit the Little League fields with the Little DirtBags this evening. Finally have a few minutes to myself – here’s what I’ve got…
• Trent Wolf has been hired as the second assistant at Dodge City CC. He will replace Buzzy Caruthers who departed recently to become an assistant at Chipola CC. Wolf has also worked at Trinity Valley, Garden City and Chipola.
• I have heard that Millikin assistant Jon Lester will be headed to Rose Hulman as the full-time assistant. He had been at Millikin since 2011, and also worked at Eastern University and Grove City College. It sounds like the official announcement could come this week.
• Word on the street is that Brian Scholly will be hired as an assistant at Maine Maritime. He graduated in May from Juniata where his 1318 points put him 6th on the all-time scoring list at the school. In 2012-13, he ranked 4th nationally in 3pt percentage (99-210 – 47%).
• It sounds like San Diego Christian College head coach Tim Cook has resigned and will become a HS AD/head coach in the San Diego area. It is rumored that assistant coach Edgar Mendez will be his replacement.
