Daily Dirt – 7/18/13

Today’s dirt…

• I have heard that Purdue assistant Micah Shrewsberry will join Brad Stevens’ staff with the Boston Celtics. Shrewsberry has spent the past three seasons on Matt Painter’s staff at Purdue. He is a former Butler assistant.

• I can confirm that Wentworth Institute of Technology (MA) will hire Cornell assistant Arlen Galloway as their new head coach. He has been on the staff at Cornell for the past two seasons and has also been an assistant at Middlebury, Kenyon, and Washington College. The official announcement is expected early next week.

• I have heard a few names surrounding the search at Hudson Valley CC (NY). The two that I have heard the most are former Siena and Rutgers assistant Craig Carter and former St. Rose head coach Mike Long. It sounds like this one could be wrapping up soon.

• I can confirm that Durrell Robinson, an assistant at Bethany College (KS), has been named as the new head coach at Beggs HS (OK). Before his stint at Bethany, he was an assistant at Danville Area CC. He was a NAIA Division I All-American at Union College (KY).
