I hope everyone is doing their best to beat the heat! Apparently a “heat dome” is sitting over much of the country – there are heat warnings and advisories in 36 states today. If you are curious, the "dome" is caused by a huge area of high pressure that traps and compresses hot, humid air from the Gulf of Mexico. It sounds like it will be with us for a while – try to stay cool!

Here’s what I have so far today….

Former Texas A&M International assistant Jared Goodwin has been named head HS coach and assistant prep school coach at New Creations (IN). He had been on the TAMIU staff for two seasons, and was at Palm Beach Atlantic before that.

Campbellsville University Assistant Jeremy Monceaux has been named the assistant coach at Faulkner University (AL). Monceaux was an assistant at Shelton State Community College prior to his time at CU.

Nebraska Omaha graduate assistant Tim Sandquist will take a job as an assistant at Southwestern CC (IA). Sandquist had spent 5 seasons at UNO as a student assistant and a GA.

Sean Kelly has resigned as the head coach at Bergen CC (NJ) to take the Head Varsity Boys Basketball job at Paramus HS. Assistant coach Matt Odalen, who has been on the staff for the past five seasons, will become the next head coach. He was part of Kelly’s staff that advanced to two straight NJCAA Final Fours (‘08-‘09 and ‘09-‘10. They also had an undefeated regular season in 2009-10 and finished 34-1.
