Crazy week for the DirtKing – Sorry for the lack of updates. This is my week of camp, and I’ve had to buy the DirtQueen an new Minivan (ugh….). It has been a long week, but a good one! The kids are working hard, but more importantly, all of their checks have cleared. Here are a few things I’ve heard in between games of knockout…

• UNLV assistant Stacey Augmon will remain with the Runnin’ Rebels. He had been courted by Michael Jordan and Mike Dunlap – they wanted him to join the Bobcats staff. According to multiple sources, he has decided not to leave his alma mater.

• I can confirm that Moberly Area CC head coach Patrick Smith has hired two assistants. Andre Bell and Eric McCrary will join Smith’s staff officially next week. Bell was an assistant at Trinity Valley CC for the last four seasons and McCrary was an assistant at Mineral Area CC this past season.

• I keep hearing Scott Sorenson’s name come up regarding the vacant Northland College job. Sorenson was most recently an assistant at Minnesota-Crookston, and has also worked at Lakeland College and Bemidji State. It sounds like an official announcement could happen as early as tomorrow.
