The search at for a new head coach at D3 Alfred State is just about over. I have heard from multiple sources that the final four is: Jack Dignan (assistant coach Colby College), Dave Matturro (associate head coach Randolph-Macon College), Nick Thorsen (assistant coach Army), and Bobby Wheet (assistant coach Illinois Wesleyan). I believe I know who got it, but will wait for one more confirmation…
JUCO Des Moines Area CC is also close to wrapping up their search. I have heard that the leader here is NAIA William Penn (IA) associate head coach Blake Sandquist. He has been at William Penn for the past 12-seasons, and is originally from the Des Moines area. *UPDATE – It’s Sandquist. Official announcement coming tonight. More HERE.
I can confirm that Nick Doran, who spent last season as the interim head coach at D2 College of Staten Island, has been hired as an assistant at D3 Hartwick College. Doran had been at CSI since 2014. It sounds like former head coach T.J. Tibbs, who took over as the interim AD at CSI in the spring of 2021 will return to coaching the team. More on this as I hear it.
It sounds like the search for a new head coach at D3 Rose-Hulman is done. Word on the street is that they are hiring a current D3 associate head coach. Working to confirm…*UPDATE – I confirmed it HERE.
Former D2 Minnesota Crookston head coach Dan Weisse has taken over at Oshkosh West High School (WI). Weisse, who played at UW Milwaukee under Bo Ryan, had spent the past eight seasons as the head coach at Crookston.
T.J. Lake has been hired as the interim assistant coach at D3 Benedictine University (IL). Lake has previously served as an assistant at D3 Concordia Moorhead (MN), and D2 Winona State.
