A few things that I heard while out and about today….
I’ve heard that Boston College may add Hobart head coach Izzy Metz to the staff. Metz was an assistant to current BC head coach Steve Donahue while they were at Cornell. It is still unclear if Metz will become an assistant or if current DBO Woody Kampman will be bumped up and Metz would assume the DBO role.
Alex Daniel has been hired as an assistant at Indiana University-South Bend. IU-South Bend head coach Chad Tapp was an assistant at Taylor University when Daniel played there. Daniel had been an assistant at Yorktown High School.
Rensselaer Polytechnic assistant Paul Halas is involved with a similar position at Amherst College. He is the cousin of John Halas who recently left his position as an assistant at Amherst to join the staff at Northfield Mt. Hermon Prep (http://hoopdirt.com/blog/634ba97c/daily-dirt-7-25-11/…).
The University of Rio Grande has added Jeffrey Williamson as the graduate assistant. He spent last season as an assistant coach at Logan Middle School and Logan High School (WV). Before that he was the student assistant at Salem International University.
Tyler Brown will return to Redlands Community College as an assistant. He worked there from 2002-2004 as a student assistant. He spent the past two years working in the private sector. Brown has also worked at Oklahoma and Western Oklahoma.
