Finally back from an extended 4th of July get-a-way with the family and now gearing up for the recruiting period. Here are a few things that I heard while I was out of the office….

Sounds like Florida Atlantic will bump up DBO Peter Gash to an assistant role. Gash has been on Mike Jarvis’ staff since 2009, and was the video coordinator at LaSalle before that.

Pearl River Community College has hired Chris Oney as an assistant coach. He had been an assistant at Nicholls State, Louisiana-Monroe, and Grambling State and was most recently a HS coach in the area. An official announcement is expected shortly.

Yavapai College has cut their basketball program, but it sounds like the assistants have landed on their feet. I’ve heard that assistant Gabriel Van Guse will take over the program at Pima CC. Also, assistant Kaden Kirk will become the graduate assistant/video coordinator at Weber State.
