Daily Dirt – 7/6/12

Some things that I’ve heard as we head into the live period…

• Two separate sources have told me that Tulane assistant Ronnie Hamilton will join the staff at Houston. Hamilton has been on Ed Conroy’s staff at Tulane for the past two seasons. He also worked for Conroy at The Citadel.

• Speaking of Tulane…I’ve heard that Jon Cremins is in the running for their vacant DBO spot. Cremins had spent the past two years as the DBO at the College of Charleston under his Uncle Bobby. He has also been the GA at Valdosta State and a HS coach in Georgia.

• I have heard from a great source that the search to fill the vacant head coach position at Georgian Court University (NJ) is winding down. Justin Potts, the associate head coach at East Stroudsburg and Dave Calloway, the former head coach at Monmouth are apparently the leaders in the clubhouse. I have heard that the job was offered to one of them on Monday.

• Bobby Plumer has been added as an assistant on Marcus Gills staff at Earlham. Plumer served as the interim HC at Siena Heights last season. He played at Siena Heights when Gill was the GA there and was also Gill’s assistant JV coach after he graduated. After two years with the JV program Plummer took over as top assistant at Siena Heights before becoming interim head coach last season.
