I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. Here are some things that I heard over the past few days…

• I’ve been told by a great source to keep an eye on the College of Charleston situation. It sounds like it’s very fluid there right now, and the suspension of Doug Wojcik may not be the end of it. I will keep you updated as I hear more.

• I have heard that Tulane video coordinator Mark Fogel is headed to Odessa College as an assistant. This past season was Fogel’s first at Tulane – he is the son of former Northeastern head coach Karl Fogel. It sounds like he will be replaced at Tulane by Joey Cantafio who has been an assistant at Bishop O’Connell HS (DC). Cantafio is the son of former Furman and VMI head coach Joe Cantafio.

• I have heard that UAB associate director of operations Andre Morgan is in the mix to be hired as an assistant at The Citadel. Morgan just completed his second season at UAB and has also worked as an assistant at Young Harris College (GA).

• Word on the street is that Chris Wash is involved with the vacant assistant spot at Kilgore (TX). Wash is a major player in the Texas AAU scene and is currently the Director of Operations for D-1 Recruited.

• I’ve heard from a very good source that Dakota College at Bottineau will name Brandon Colvin as the new head coach at Athletic Director. He spent last season as the head coach at Minnesota State Community and Technical College. Before that, he spent three seasons coaching overseas in Qatar, Bahrain and Denmark. Look for the official announcement this week.

• I can confirm that Thane Jackson has been hired as the new full-time assistant coach at Northern Idaho. Jackson started off at Portland State as a GA/manager for two seasons. He followed that up with an assistant job as Gonzaga Prep. Jackson was a part-time coach for the Cardinal program the past two seasons. He assumes the position vacated by Corey Symons, who was promoted to the head coach position in June.
