A few things to start the day…
• A good source has told me that North Alabama assistant Kyle Morris has departed to become an assistant at NE Mississippi CC. Morris had been the GA at North Alabama for two seasons before becoming a full-time assistant last season.
• I have heard phone interviews at Alfred University have wrapped up, and candidates have been coming to campus this week for interviews. From a great source, I’ve heard four of the guys getting on-campus interviews are: Ryan Kadlubowski (Head Coach Mount Saint Mary [NY]), Bob Simmons (Head Coach Marywood College [PA]), Rob Schoener (Head Coach SUNY-Delhi), and Russ Phillips (Assistant Coach Hobart). It sounds like these interviews will wrap-up with in the week, and there could be an announcement by next week.
• It sounds like AIC assistant Chris Oroszko will serve as the interim head coach while the search to replace Art Luptowski begins (Luptowski took a scouting job with the Pistons this past weekend). An early name that has surfaced as a possible candidate is current AIC Director of Compliance Andy Burkholder. He served as an assistant at AIC from 2005-2011, and has also been an assistant at Elizabethtown, Shepherd University, and Springfield. We will pass along the job posting once it is released.
