Some things to kick off August…
- Elon has hired Allen Payne as an assistant coach to replace Vince Walden (Texas A&M). Payne has spent the past three seasons on the staff at Indiana University Pennsylvania, and was a graduate assistant at Xavier before that. An official announcement is expected in the next few days.
- Word on the street is that UNC Asheville assistant RJ Evans is headed to Holy Cross. Evans played for the Crusaders from 2008-12, and finished as a grad transfer at UConn. He has also worked at Louisville and Texas. More on this one shortly.
- DII St. Michael’s College has finally made their hire. I have heard that it is an assistant from the MAAC and the announcement will be later today.
- Towson has lost their men’s basketball strength and conditioning Mike Chatman who is headed to Stanford. The Tigers will be on the hunt for a new basketball performance guy to take his place. Reach out if you’re interested…
- Working on Cleveland State staff names…I believe I have two of them (and possibly the third). More once I confirm this.
