Daily Dirt – 8/11/11

Here are some things that I’ve heard over the past 24 hours….

Looks like former Purdue assistant Mike Jackson will take over as the Coordinator of Operations at Providence. Jackson spent last season at Purdue before resigning. He was an assistant at Michigan for five seasons before that. He would replace Carmen Maciariello who took an assistant spot at Boston University.

An early name that I’ve heard for the vacant Brevard College job is John Jordan. Jordan was most recently the head coach at Adelphi Christian Academy (SC) and had been a very successful HS coach in the Brevard area (Veritas Christian Academy). He has experience at the pro level in the CBA, IBL, and CBL.

Moberly Area Community College assistant Landon Cornish has resigned and will become the head coach at Webb City HS (MO). Cornish had spent one season on the MACC staff and had been a HS assistant for 4 seasons prior to that.
