Daily Dirt – 8/2/12

Today’s "dirt"…

• Multiple sources have told me that Washington State DBO Tim Marrion will join the staff at San Jose State as an assistant. Marrion is a WSU alum who has been on the Cougars staff for the past three seasons. He has previously worked at San Jose State – he held various roles on the SJSU staff from 2006-2009. The official announcement is expected shortly.

• I can confirm that Marlon Williamson will join the staff at UMass. Williamson is the head coach of The Family (AAU) based out of Detroit. UMass head coach Derek Kellogg was an assistant at Youngstown State when Williamson played there. He would replace Antwon Jackson who became an assistant at Cincinnati last month.

• Speaking of AAU guys making the jump…I have heard that Doug Martin is involved with a spot at Villanova. He currently coaches Takeover 16U (AAU), and also works on the staff at Paul VI HS. He would follow former Takeover assistant Kenny Johnson to the college ranks – last season Johnson joined the staff at Towson, and he recently moved on to Indiana.

• I mentioned earlier in the week that Bryan Weber has been hired as a GA at Miami – looks like Kevin Noon will join the Hurricane’s staff as a GA as well. Noon spent 3 seasons at Rider University, serving as head manager for two years before joining the Broncs roster as a senior walk-on during the 2011-2012 campaign. Noon also spent time as an assistant at Lawrence High School (NJ) during the 2008-2009 season.

• Anthony Terrill has been hired as the assistant at Ecclesia College (AR). He spent last season as the GA at Texas A&M – Kingsville. Prior to that, he was a manager at Arkansas under John Pelphrey. He will also be the sports information director at the school.
