Daily Dirt – 8/21/13

Today’s “dirt”…

• Calbert Cheaney is leaving Indiana and will become an assistant at St. Louis. Cheaney had been Indiana’s DBO since 2011 and is one of the most decorated players ever to play at IU. He played 13 years in the NBA and was a three-time All-American as a Hoosier. The official statement is expected today.

• I have heard from a good source that Eastern Washington’s search for an assistant is over, and they will hire San Francisco State assistant Alex Pribble. He has been at SF State for the past two seasons, and was a HS head coach before that. Pribble played collegiately at Cal.

• I have heard the former Presbyterian College guard Pierre Miller is involved with an assistant spot on the Blue Hose staff. He is a 2012 graduate of the school where he scored 937 points during his career.

• It sounds like Jones County Junior College (MS) has hired Sai’Quon Stone as an assistant. Stone is a former player at Southern Mississippi. No word on when the official announcement will be made.
