Daily Dirt – 8/3/11

A few things before heading to the beach for the day….

Multiple sources are reporting that former Tennessee head coach Bruce Pearl will interview with D-League’s Texas Legends. It appears that Pearl will interview on Thursday for the head spot with the Dallas Mavericks affiliate. He would be in line to replace Nancy Lieberman who was promoted to assistant GM.

Augusta State assistant Robbie McKinlay has resigned. He is going to return to his native Australia where he will pursue professional coaching opportunities. He had been on the ASU staff for five seasons. I’ve heard that head coach Dip Metress wants a new assistant in place ASAP. It sounds like former ASU player and current King College (TN) assistant Jamie Quarles is the leader here. Before his stint at King, he coached the red team at Oak Hill Academy for two seasons. He is a 2008 ASU grad.
