Crazy time of the year – very excited to finally get our guys back on campus this weekend. Here’s some end of August "dirt"…
• I have heard from multiple sources that John Sheets is the front runner for the 3rd assistant spot at Maine. He is a Maine alum who is currently a women’s assistant at Simpson College (CA). He would replace Ed Kohtala who recently became the head coach at Bangor (ME) HS.
• It sounds like Pat Rogers, who was the GA at Providence for the past two years, will take an operations position at The Citadel. Before his time at PC, Rogers was a manager at Notre Dame.
• From a few great sources…Bill Foy is the choice to become the new head coach at Richland College (TX). Foy had been at North Texas for the past six seasons, and won a NJCAA National Championship as the HC at Paris (JC) before that. I’ve also heard that he is looking for an assistant – we don’t have an official posting for that yet, but will get it up once we receive it.
• Williamette University (OR) has hired J Jay Davis as an assistant. Davis is the former head coach at Skyline HS (WA). He replaces Michael Plank who took an administrative role at the University of San Francisco earlier this summer.
• I can confirm that Ellis Gindraw has been named as an assistant at Immaculata College (PA). He was an assistant at Cheyney University from 2007-12. He is the first hire for new head coach Terrance Stewart.
• Spenser Nunes has been hired as an assistant at Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College (OK). He had spent the past two seasons as the head coach at Waverly-South Shore HS (SD).
