Some things that I’ve heard while waiting for the Brady decision…

• I can confirm that Queens College (NY) head coach Darryl Jacobs has hired two assistants – Steven Schneider and David Vandiver. Schneider comes to Queens after spending the last two season as associate head coach at Oyster Bay HS in Long Island. Schneider has also been coaching AAU with the Long Island Lightning, and has been an assistant at St. Dominic HS and Benjamin Cardozo HS under legendary coach Ron Nacierio.  Vandiver was an assistant at Queensborough Community College and Westchester Community College. He was also the head coach at Woodlands HS (NY).

• Adam Hepker has been named as an assistant at Grand View University (IA).  He had spent the past five seasons as an assistant at his alma mater MidAmerica Nazarene University (KS). Following graduation in 2008, he spent a year and a half playing professionally overseas and in the United States.  He is now #HoopDirtofficial.

• I have heard that Blake Peterson will be named as the top assistant coach at DIII St Mary’s (MN). Peterson was a volunteer assistant last season at Minnesota State-Mankato and has also coached with the Minnesota Fury summer basketball program for the last three years.  

• It sounds like Shaw University (NC) will hire Major Parker as an assistant coach.  Parker is a former player at Florida who has been involved with many AAU programs over the past few years, including serving as the athletic director for the Florida Flash.
