Daily Dirt – 9/12/11

Busy weekend – here are some of the things that I’ve heard….

According to a great source, Nima Omidvar has been hired as the video coordinator at NC State. Omidvar spent last season as an assistant at Bowie State. Before that, he was a GA on Bobby Lutz’ staff at UNC-Charlotte (Lutz is now an assistant at NC State).

Sounds like former West Alabama assistant Joe Eatmon may be the choice to replace Ben Hicks as the head coach at Alabama Southern CC. Eatmon is a Tuscaloosa, AL native and was named West Alabama HS Player of the Year in 2001. Hicks departed last month to take an assistant spot at Jacksonville State.

Dan Marsella and Heath Stone have been added to Head coach Dave Pasiak’s staff at Onondaga Community College (NY) as assistant coaches. Marsella was a two-time All-Region player at OCC in 2004 and 2005 and a 1,000 point scorer. After Onondaga, he accepted a scholarship to DII Erskine College. Stone was a two-time All-MSAC player at OCC the last two years and will serve as a volunteer assistant this season while he completes his degree.

I have heard that Kris Arkenberg is going to join the staff at the University of New Orleans. Arkenberg was most recently an assistant at Panola JC (TX) and has also worked at Lincoln Trail College (IL).

Finally, I heard over the weekend that former Radford head coach Brad Greenberg will coach a professional team in Venezuela next season. He was an assistant to Eric Musselman on the Venezuelan National Team this summer and will apparently take over the La Guaira Buccaneers squad.
