Here are a few things that I’ve heard over the past few days….

Maine still has not announced the hiring of their third assistant. I’ve heard North Dakota assistant Nate Philippe’s name mentioned by multiple people when talking about this situation. It sounds like he may be the choice here. He would replace Chris Markwood who took a similar position at Vermont in the spring. Philippe is from Canada – he has worked at several Canadian schools including the Regional Elite Development Academy in Hamilton, Ontario.

Not sure what is going on at Bluefield State (WVa). Apparently head coach Jimmy Voight had a meeting with the President and AD on Friday regarding his future at the college. According to multiple sources, some type of statement was supposed to be made on Monday to clarify Voight’s situation. It’s now Wednesday, and I have not heard anything. I’ll keep you posted on this one.

I can confirm that Lamar CC (CO) has hired Joshua Motenko as an assistant. Motenko was most recently an assistant at Chabot College (CA). He has also played and coached internationally with various organizations.

I’ve heard that former Michigan-Dearborn assistant Deajada Smith may be joining the staff at Fisk University (TN). Smith also spent time as an assistant at Schoolcraft College (MI).
