Daily Dirt – 9/23/13

Today’s "dirt"…

• I mentioned last week that I had heard that Villanova assistant Billy Lange was headed to the Philadelphia 76ers. It now sounds like a done deal. The “hot” name to replace him on Jay Wright’s staff is Hofstra assistant Kyle Neptune. I’ve heard from three different coaches that Neptune could be the choice here, and that it could get done pretty quickly.

• Word on the street is that Drexel staffer Brandon Weems is headed to Oakland and will become an assistant there. Weems is a former GA and assistant DBO at Kentucky. The official announcement is expected any day.

• Austin Claunch has been named as a graduate manager at Clemson. He spent last season as the director of player development at George Mason. Claunch is a 2012 graduate of Emory University.

• I have heard that Sarah Lawrence College (NY) has added two assistants – Mark Burger and Tyler Scott. Burger has served as a womens assistant at both Stevens Tech and Mercy College. Scott is a recent graduate of High Point (NC) where he was a team manager.
