Daily Dirt – 9/27/11

Late blog tonight – I was out of the office sick all day. Like I told Mr. Dirt earlier today, I think I have a temperature of like 200 degrees (The DirtQueen needed two thermometers to get an accurate reading). Here’s what I have in a rare moment of lucidity….

I’ve heard that Harcum College assistant Steven Hobbs is in the mix for the interim spot at Bluefield State. As you know, Jimmy Voight was released last week (http://hoopdirt.com/blog/47335bd4/voight-out-at-bluefield-st…), and the college is actively pursuing and interim for this season. I’m not sure what the connection is, but my source says that Hobbs does have some ties to the school.

Jon Hayes, who was an assistant at Thomas College last season, has moved on to nearby Maine-Farmington. Hayes was the head coach at the University of New England (ME) from 2004-2007. He is a 1997 Maine-Farmington grad and has also served as an assistant at Whitworth (WA).
