Today’s “dirt”…
• I have heard that Tennessee Tech will promote DBO Frank Davis to assistant coach. Davis is a former standout at TTU (class of 2010). Before becoming the DBO at TTU last season, he spent a year as an assistant at Piedmont, and a year as a grad assistant at Lee.
• It sounds like former Wentworth head coach Tom Devitt has become the DBO at Hartford. He compiled a 139-152 record in 11 seasons at WIT and also spent time as an assistant at American.
• I have heard that Dakota County Tech has hired Ben Davis as their new head coach. He was most recently an assistant at Clarke (IA). Davis is also the founder and director of Minnesota Fury AAU.
• I can confirm that Umpqua Community College has named Daniel Leeworthy head coach to replace Richard Robles (took a HS job). Leeworthy is an Australian native who has spent the past four seasons as an assistant at Western State Colorado.
• University of Findlay’s Dan Shardo has been promoted to associate head coach. He has been an assistant at Findlay for the past eight seasons. He has also served as an assistant at Earlham (IN) and was a HS coach before that.
