I’ve heard that a few assistants are on the move….

It sounds like Wyoming assistant Anthony Stewart is in the mix at Southern Illinois to fill the last vacancy on Chris Lowrey’s staff. Stewart was at Wyoming for four seasons, and was at Long Beach before that.

I’ve also heard that Tyler (TX) JC assistant Tom Coverdale is going to be a part of Billy Gillispie’s staff at Texas Tech. Coverdale is a former Indiana standout who spent four seasons as an assistant at Louisiana-Monroe.

Ole Miss assistant Torrey Ward maybe named as the associate head coach at Louisiana Tech. He has worked with new La. Tech head coach Mike White at Ole Miss and Jacksonville State.

I said yesterday that DII Findlay would move quickly to fill their vacant head coaching spot. It looks like they have….there is a 4:30pm press conference scheduled for this afternoon. I keep hearing that associate head coach Charlie Ernst is the choice here.

I’ve heard that Benedictine head coach Todd Eisner is in play to replace the recently retired Rich McGill at Midland. Eisner is a former assistant at Creighton and was the head coach at Bellevue University. An official announcement is expected within a week.
