How about the 13-0 run to end the game by Georgia State….gotta love it! Just want to take a few minutes between games to give a few updates – VERY busy out there today. Going with some “quick hitters” here….
• Early at UALR, but already staring to hear some names. Bowling Green assistant Mark Downey (former HC at Arkansas Tech), Mississippi State assistant Wes Flanigan (from Little Rock), Arkansas assistant Matt Zimmerman, Tulsa assistant Dennis Felton, and current UALR assistant and former NBA center Joe Kleine. I have heard that not much will happen here until the UALR women’s squad finishes up their NCAA run.
• I have heard that Utah Valley has started interviews. It sounds like an assistant from BYU, and an NBA assistant have already been interviewed
• Staying in Utah…I’ve heard that Utah associate head coach Tommy Connor is a leader for Utah State. Connor has been with Larry Krystkowiak at Utah for the past four years, and was also the head coach at Westminster College (UT) for 12 seasons.
• North Carolina Central Lavelle Moton’s name is picking up a lot of steam at Charlotte. Many believe that UTC’s Will Wade is at the top of the list, but there is a ton of stuff going on behind the scenes here. More on this shortly…
• I have heard that Parker is handling the search at Fordham. The hot name out there right now is Buffalo head coach Bobby Hurley. Makes sense for a lot of reasons. TONS of other names though. Will save that for a separate blog!
• A few weeks ago, I mentioned Michigan assistant Jeff Meyer would be involved at Liberty (http://hoopdirt.com/blog/7c55d908/daily-dirt-3-12-15/…). I have now heard from a good source that he will indeed interview there.
