So busy today, I needed round 2 of the DD. Here you go…

Richmond assistant Kevin Hovde is headed to Florida where he will rejoin new Gators head coach Todd Golden. Hovde was the associate head coach under Golden at San Francisco from 2019-21, and an assistant at USF from 2016-19. The former player at Richmond also worked for Kyle Smith at Columbia from 2011-16.

I mentioned Talvin Hester and his involvement at Louisiana Tech in the Daily Dirt earlier today. It now sounds like that’s a done deal with an announcement coming shortly. The current Texas Tech assistant had been on former head coach Eric Konkol staff at Louisiana Tech from 2018-21. More when this is made official.

Word on the street is that Tarleton State assistant Kyle Cooper is the leader at Howard College (TX), and may have already been offered the position. Last season was Cooper’s first will Billy Gillispie at Tarleton after spending the previous two seasons as the head coach at JUCO Western Texas College (TX).

Sounds like D2 Cameron University (OK) is done. Heard it’s going to be a current JUCO head coach from the state. More on this one shortly.
