Fairly busy day today – here’s a second installment of the “Daily Dirt”…..

I mentioned in my earlier “Daily Dirt” that Rick Majerus was a hot name at SMU. It looks like he’s gotten even hotter since this morning! I can now confirm that he has been given permission be St. Louis to interview at SMU. From what I’ve heard, that has not been scheduled yet, but will be very shortly.

Andy Kennedy has been given a one-year extension at Ole Miss. His new contract will now take him through the 2014-15 season. The new deal has some minor changes to it, but is still believed to pay him around $1.3 per season.

I can confirm that Eastern Arizona assistant Kyle Fisher has accepted an assistant spot at Coffeyville CC. He has been at EAC since 2010, and was an assistant at Southwestern CC before that.

A few names that have surfaced with the vacant Martin Methodist job. The two names that I keep hearing are Wallace State head coach John Meeks, and Brevard CC head coach Jerry Shulman. Meeks was previously an assistant at Martin Methodist and is a Tennessee native. Shulman is also a Tennessee native and had been the long-time head coach with the Midstate Ballerz AAU (TN).
