Daily Dirt II – 4/12/12

Another busy day here at the HD World HQ! Here’s the second Daily Dirt of the day…..

• Colorado State has scheduled a 4:00 press conference for this afternoon where they are expected to announce their next head coach. The choice will be Craig Neal, I mean Ernie Kent, no wait, now it’s Larry Eustachy, ugh…… On a serious note, it sounds like this time it really is a done deal, and Eustachy is the pick. We’ll post the release once it’s made official.

• I mentioned yesterday that SMU was granted permission to talk to St. Louis head coach Rick Majerus. It appears that they didn’t have a very long conversation. Majerus has reportedly said “thanks but no thanks” to SMU AD Steve Orsini. Reports were that SMU was willing to pay Majerus somewhere in the $2 million range.

• New Mt. St. Mary’s coach Jamion Christian is going to retain current assistants Darryl Bruce and Tony Bethel. Bruce just finished his first seasons on staff. He worked at Jacksonville State with MSM alum Cliff Warren prior to this past season. This was also Bethel ‘s first year on staff at The Mount. He played at NC State. He has one spot left to fill.

• Looks like former Canisius head coach Tom Parrotta may be headed to Fordham. He is a Fordham alum who also worked for current Fordham head coach Tom Pecora at Hofstra. Word on the street is that current assistant Mike Kelly is no longer on staff.
