Some mid-day "dirt"…

• I have heard that Minnesota DBO Mike Balado has resigned and will return to Florida International where he will join Anthony Evans staff. I have also heard that Steve Goodson will replace Balado on Richard Pitino’s staff as the DBO. Goodson had been the special assistant for the past six seasons and served in a similar role with Smith at Kentucky.

• Still waiting on word at Fairleigh Dickinson. I keep hearing that it’s down to UMass-Lowell’s Greg Herenda and former Louisville assistant Walter McCarty. There are some who think that the AD is pulling one way and the committee the other. I expect this to be wrapped up shortly though.

• Multiple sources have told me that there has been a change at Bethel University (MN). It appears that Jeff Westlund is out as the head coach – there has been no reason given or statement released yet. More on this when it becomes official.
