Daily Dirt Part II – 4/11/11

A few more things that I’ve heard today….

Wake Forest assistant Jeff Battle has turned down an offer to join close friend Ed Cooley on the staff at Providence. Battle has been an assistant for Wake Forest for 10 seasons under three different head coaches.

Jackson (OH) HS head coach Mike Fuline is going to be the next head coach at Mount Union. The official announcement is expected after Jackson’s end of the year banquet on Wednesday. Fuline has already told his staff and the administration of the decision.

Penn State DBO Ernie Nestor is close to joining the new staff at Missouri. Nestor has been in coaching for 41 seasons with 11 years of head coaching experience (George Mason from 1988 to 1993 and at Elon from 2003 to 2009). He has also been an assistant at James Madison, Wake Forest, California, George Mason, and South Carolina. He would bring a veteran X’s and O’s presence to the Mizzou staff.
