A quick afternoon update….

Marshall assistant Bill Barton is rumored to be the leader for the vacant assistant position at Pitt. His current head coach, Tom Herrion, held the position at Pitt before he took the Marshall job last spring. Barton was also an assistant at Duquesne, and before that he was the long-time head coach at Notre Dame Prep (MA).

I’ve heard that Oral Roberts assistant Chris Crutchfield is going to join Lon Kruger’s staff at Oklahoma. Crutchfield is the former head coach at Tyler (TX) JC and also spent tinme as an assistant at TCU. He would join Steve Henson and Lew Hill on the Oklahoma staff – Henson and Hill were both with Kruger at UNLV.

I can confirm that former Iowa head coach Todd Lickliter has interviewed at Eastern Michigan last Friday. Lickliter was an assistant at Eastern Michigan from 1997-99 before moving on to Butler.
