Daily Dirt – The Afternoon Edition….

A few items to report from things that I’ve heard this afternoon….

Eastern Washington has narrowed their search to eight candidates. The plan is to interview them this week, and bring the finalists to campus next week. The goal here is to have a coach in place by the Final Four.

Speaking of searches, Lamar is making headway with theirs as well. They want to interview 8-10 candidates by the Final Four, bring the finalists to campus on April 5th and 6th, and name the new coach on April 7th.

Former Idaho head coach Leonard Perry is involved at IUPUI. He has been in the Pacers organization as a scout and an assistant for since 2006.

Word is that Cal Poly associate head coach Mark Amaral will join Marty Wilson’s staff at Pepperdine in a similar role. The two worked together at UCSB.

I’ve heard that Tulsa head coach Doug Wojcik will interview at Georgia Tech. He has ACC experience from his days as an assistant at North Carolina. He is 87-54 in 6 seasons at Tulsa. He has also served as an assistant Michigan State.

Still not sure were Arkansas is heading. There are reports today that Missouri’s Mike Anderson is a done deal there. This is after reports earlier in the week that he was staying at Missouri with an new contract. I would assume we’ll know for sure in the next 24 hours how this one will play out.
