It appears that Arkansas State head coach John Brady will have his contract extended. According to my sources, it’s a done deal and will be announced sometime this week. Brady’s team won the West Division of the Sun Belt this season, and his team’s record has improved in each of his first three seasons. There are no details on his new contract, but expect his $100k base to go up significantly.
Speaking of Arkanas, I’ve heard from a great source that a DII coach in the state has just told his team that he is being forced to resign. More on this when it becomes official.
Lastly, according to sources, "corporate donors" have gotten together to offer a buy-out package to Southern Illinois head coach Chris Lowery. He is owed over $2m on his current contract and there is no buy-out clause (meaning the donors would pay the whole deal). SIU AD Mario Moccia has denied this rumor, but it actually has some serious teeth to it. From what I’ve heard, an announcement will be made after the Missouri Valley Tournament.
