It’s a busy day for the DirtKing here at HoopDirt Headquarters, so I’ll get right to it…..
I’ve heard that Oregon Associate Head Coach Mike Dunlap will get an interview for the top spot at Oregon. Also, there is a ton of support from the administration for assistant Kenny Payne – they will push (require?) him to be retained by the next head coach.
Florida Associate Head Coach Larry Shyatt’s name has come up a few times with regard to the Charlotte job. Shyatt is the former head coach at Wyoming and Clemson – Charlotte President Phillip DuBois was the President at Wyoming when Shyatt was hired there.
Former Michigan assistant and current East Tennessee assistant Mike Boyd’s name has been mentioned with the Northwood (MI) job. Boyd spent 11 seasons at Michigan and is a graduate of Northern Michigan. Also, former Tusculum and Armstrong Atlantic coach Griff Mills has apparently shown some interest in the job. He is 192-144 over 12 seasons as a head coach.
Wagner has shown some interest in Bridgeport Head Coach Mike Ruane. His team was 23-9 this past season and advanced to the NCAA DII Tournament. He is 190-111 in 10 seasons at UB.
