Dakota Wesleyan head men’s basketball coach Matt Wilber is taking a “personal leave of absence” according to the Mitchell Republic.
According to the report, “Matt is taking a personal leave of absence right now and that’s about all I can comment on,” DWU President Amy Novak said Monday.
Director of Athletics Jon Hart told the Republic via text that, “This was mutually agreed upon by Matt and the university. We do not have a specified timeline for his return at this time.”
Wilber has been the head coach at Dakota Wesleyan for the past seven seasons. During his tenure, he has compiled a 165-70 record, including a 23-9 mark last season.
Tyler Vaughan will serve as the acting head coach while Wilber is on leave. There is no timetable yet for his return.
