Fort Lewis College Men’s basketball is excited to announce the promotion of Tyler Danielson to Associate Head Coach after a strong inaugural season.
Danielson joined the Skyhawks in the fall of 2021 and assisted in guiding the program to a 19-9 overall record and 15-6 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference mark that included a birth in the Conference Tournament last year.
“It is with great enthusiasm that we promote Coach Ty to Associate Head Coach,” Fort Lewis College Head Coach Bob Pietrack said. “Ty has been instrumental in our success and has proven himself to be an excellent on-floor coach and an outstanding recruiter. Our program has always valued hard work and loyalty, and Coach Ty’s promotion is an example of that.”
Prior to the addition of Danielson, the Skyhawks posted a 13-15 record back in the 2019-20 season, along with a 7-9 record during the abbreviated 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I would like to thank Head Coach Bob Pietrack and Athletic Director Travis Whipple for this opportunity,” said Fort Lewis College Associate Head Coach Tyler Danielson. “Pietrack has shown me the real meaning of loyalty in college basketball. He believed in me from the first conversation we had, and I can’t think of a better place to continue learning than Fort Lewis College.”
Last season Danielson helped lead FLC to the highest scoring offense in the RMAC averaging 84.0 points per game. Led by First Team All-RMAC and D2CCA Second Team All-South Central award winner Riley Farris, the Skyhawks owned the third-highest scoring margin in the conference at +7.4 points per game. With another season on the horizon, Danielson and Fort Lewis will look ahead in search of the programs third-straight conference tournament appearance.
