Former Nyack College Point Guard Dante Agnew has been hired as an assistant men’s basketball coach for the Warriors. Dante will be heavily involved in player development and recruiting. A 2016 Nyack grad, Agnew spent the last year training several professional basketball players including former Marist star Chavaughn Lewis who currently plays in Poland and Ramon Clemente of the Puerto Rican national team. He’s also worked with current Kentucky star Nick Richards.
Agnew states, “I’m excited and thankful for the opportunity to return to my alma mater. I will bring great energy and focus daily to help the program reach new heights. I enjoy the process of developing players and I look forward to helping each Nyack player improve their skills.”
As a 3-year player for the Warriors, Dante played in 71 games while posting 43 starts. As a senior he recorded 7.7 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds per game.
“Dante was one of my first recruits when I got the job in the spring of 2012. He’s was a major part of building our foundation and we are excited to have him back in this new capacity. He’s a very talented young coach that has a bright future.” -Nyack Head Coach Jason Crafton.
