David Hall
joins the LMU men’s basketball staff as the team’s Director of
Basketball Operations heading into the 2019-20 season, his first with
the team.
“David Hall is a welcome addition to our staff,” said Head Coach Mike Dunlap.
“Coach Hall’s reputation with player relations is widely known. He has a
deep local recruiting network and leadership skills that will enhance
our staff. I feel honored that Coach Hall has decided to join the LMU
family.”
Prior to joining the Lions, Hall served as a decorated youth basketball
coach in the Los Angeles Area over the greater part of the last decade.
His coaching resume includes working at Crespi Carmelite High School,
West Coast Elite UAA, and Adidas Global Nations. A winner at each spot,
Hall’s trophy case includes a California CIF Division 4 Division
Championship, back-to-back California CIF Division 4 and 1 State
Championships, a trip to the UAA Final Four, and a trip to the Adidas
National title game.
His 2017-18 Crespi Celts became Mission League Champions after posting a
perfect 12-0 record, two years after winning back-to-back CIF State
Championships at the Division 4 and Division 1 levels.
As a player, Hall was on scholarship at Elon University from 1998 to
2002 where he captained the Phoenix for two seasons. In addition to be
named the team’s Most Valuable Player (2002), Top Defender (2001, 2002),
and Most Improved Player (2000), Hall served as Vice President of
Elon’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
Before Hall began coaching, he served as a Police Office for the
Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority from Nov. 2002 through
Feb. 2008, where he was a member of the Honor Guard Color Team and
received two Meritorious Service Awards (2003, 2007).
