Delta State University director of athletics Jeremy McClain announced that the contract of head men’s basketball coach Jason Conner will not be renewed. Conner directed the Statesmen to a 93-73 record during his six-year tenure, including a 6-21 finish in 2011-12. The Lakeland, Fla., native became head coach in 2006-07 after spending seven seasons as the primary assistant to former head coach Steve Rives.

A nationwide search to find his replacement will begin immediately.
