The University of Denver men’s basketball program has hired Jack Frost as the Director of Men’s Basketball Operations, head coach Jeff Wulbrun announced.
“I’m adding a very familiar face in Jack Frost to our DU program,” Wulbrun said. “Jack and I worked together at Stanford, and I personally saw Jack’s daily commitment to the student-athletes, staff and program. Jack will demonstrate every day that his only agenda is to do what is in the best interest of DU basketball. Jack has assistant coaching experience at Stanford and North Carolina, where he was an assistant coach on the UNC JV team with now head coach Hubert Davis. Jack is a relentless worker, student of the game and impacted success at Stanford through his player development, scouting and analytical approach to the game. He reflects all our core values and will be a perfect fit to our culture. We welcome Jack and his wife Laura to DU.”
In his most recent season at Stanford, Frost served as an assistant coach, acting as the out-of-bounds underneath (OBU) and special situation coordinator on Jerod Haase’s staff. Frost coached the Cardinal to as high as fourth in the country in OBU offense, averaging 1.1 points per possession, while only allowing 0.74 points per possession defensively in Pac-12 play.
“I’m deeply grateful to Coach Wulbrun for extending the opportunity to become a part of the Denver basketball family,” Frost said. “I’m eagerly looking forward to meeting the student-athletes and working with the staff to prepare for the upcoming season. I hope to contribute to the continued growth and success of the Pioneers program.”
In his tenure at Stanford, Frost contributed to the recruitment and development of two of the last four Pac-12 Most Improved Player of the Year award winners and four-consecutive Pac-12 Scholar Athletes of the Year. Stanford secured victories over top-five teams in the country in back-to-back-to-back seasons, the program’s first top-5 wins since 2007. Prior to the cancellation of the NCAA Tournament in 2020 due to COVID-19, Frost and the Cardinal staff produced the first 20-win season in the program since 2014-15.
Prior to his arrival at the Farm, Frost spent three seasons as an assistant coach and the JV Head Coach at Milligan University (NAIA). Frost headed player development, scouting, recruiting, scheduling and bench coaching for the Buffaloes. Frost developed and executed an analytical program that produced individual and lineup +/- reports after each game.
While working on his master’s of accounting at the University of North Carolina, Frost assisted coaching the Tar Heels’ JV team under the direction of then-JV head coach Hubert Davis. Frost helped prepare scouting reports and trained the JV players at UNC.
