I’ve heard from a bunch of really good sources on the search for a new head coach at DII California University (PA).  It sounds like Skype interviews are complete and 3-5 interviews will take place on campus.  I have heard that the Skype round included a Mountain West assistant, and a current small college head coach who won his 500th game this season – those two did not advance to the next round.  It sounds like three of the finalists are: Joe Mazzulla (assistant coach Fairmont State University [WVa]), Kent McBride (head coach Concord University [WVa]), and Brett Vincent (head coach Chowan University [NC]).  I’m waiting on confirmation of possibly two more finalists. Also, not sure on the timeline of the final hiring.  The school is in the midst of a presidential search (down to two finalists) and the hiring also has to be approved by the Cal U Board of Trustees as well as the Pennsylvania State System Board of Governors.  More on this search as I hear it.
