DIII DIRT: Randolph-Macon Finalists

The Richmond-Times Dispatch has reported, and HoopDirt.com has since confirmed, that there are three finalists to replace Nathan Davis at Randolph-Macon.  Davis became the head coach at Bucknell back on April 19th, after a very successful run at R-MC.  The three finalists are:

  • Sean McAloon – Head Coach St. John’s College HS (DC).  A Randolph-Macon alum and was also an assistant there.  Has been at St. John’s since 2012, and spent seven seasons as the head coach at Benedict College Prep (VA) before that.  Also spent time as an assistant at Bucknell.
  • Josh Merkel – Head Coach Salisbury University (MD).  Won the CAC Championship this past season and won a first round game in the NCAA DIII Tournament.  Spent the 2010-11 season as an assistant at Randolph-Macon.  Was also an assistant for five seasons at Eastern Kentucky.
  • Alan Seretti – Head Coach Dickinson College (PA).  Led his team to a 24-6 record this past season, and an NCAA DIII Sweet 16 appearance.  Has been at Dickinson since 2009 – was the head coach at Penn State Altoona before that.

 

 

 

 

The finalists are Sean McAloon of St. John’s College High School, Josh Merkel of Salisbury University and Alan Seretti of Dickinson College
